The trip is booked, the suitcase is half packed, and somewhere on your phone is a tab open to 'do I need malaria tablets?'. Here's how to take the panic out of it.
Six weeks before you fly
This is when most travel vaccines need to be started, so it's the most important window. A travel clinic appointment now means everything is sequenced properly.
Two weeks before
- Pick up any prescription refills you'll need abroad
- Order a small first-aid kit if you don't already have one
- Check insurance covers any pre-existing conditions
The night before
Pack medication in your carry-on, not your hold luggage, and keep it in original packaging with the pharmacy label visible.
