On this page

Flu season feels inevitable, but it doesn't have to feel chaotic. A little planning in early autumn protects you, your family and the people around you who can't fight it as easily.

Timing matters more than you think

Your protection is strongest about two weeks after the jab and slowly fades over the months that follow. Having it in October means you're well covered through the worst of winter.

Who should prioritise the jab

  • Anyone over 65
  • Pregnant women, at any stage
  • People with long-term conditions like asthma or diabetes
  • Carers and household members of vulnerable people

We run flu clinics throughout autumn, book online or pop in for a walk-in slot. It's quick, it's quiet, and it's free for most groups under the NHS.
